American Architecture encompasses a wide range of building styles and designs that have developed throughout the United States. It reflects the country’s diverse cultural, political, and economic influences, as well as its climate and geography. Some of American history’s most notable architectural styles include Colonial, Federal, Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Renaissance Revival, Art Deco, International, and Postmodern. American architecture has also been heavily influenced by European architectural styles and indigenous building practices and materials. From iconic skyscrapers like the Empire State Building and the Sears Tower to grand public buildings like the United States Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, American architecture continues to be innovative and diverse, reflecting the spirit of the country and its people.
