Elissa Aalto

Elissa Aalto (1922–1994) was a Finnish architect known for collaborating with her husband, Alvar Aalto, and preserving and continuing his architectural legacy after his death. She worked closely with him on significant projects like the Säynätsalo Town Hall and the Finlandia Hall. She later led the Aalto office, overseeing completions, restorations, and exhibitions that maintained the integrity of his design vision.

“Architecture is not created alone. It is always a collaboration between people, materials, and time.” – Elissa Aalto
