Antonio Bonet

Antoni Bonet i Castellana (1913-1989) was a Spanish architect and designer known for his modernist style. He was a prominent member of the GATCPAC (Group of Catalan Architects and Technicians for the Progress of Contemporary Architecture), a collective of architects who promoted modernist principles in Catalonia in the 1930s. Bonet’s most famous work is the B.K.F. (Butterfly) chair, which he designed in 1938 along with his partners Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy. The chair has become an icon of modern design and is still produced today. Bonet’s architectural works include private residences, public buildings, and urban planning projects, and he is widely regarded as one of the most influential architects of the modernist movement in Spain.
