18th Century Architecture was marked by significant political, social, and cultural changes, which influenced the development of architecture. During the 18th century, several architectural styles emerged and evolved, including Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassicism, and the beginning of Gothic Revival. Baroque architecture, which was characterized by ornate decoration and grandeur, dominated the first half of the century, while the more light and playful Rococo style became increasingly popular in the latter half. The 18th century also saw the emergence of new building types, such as public buildings like theaters, museums, and government buildings, as well as residential buildings like townhouses and villas. Architecture also became more closely tied to landscape design with the development of formal gardens and parks.
