Harmonizing Private and Communal Living with Bioclimatic Design
The design concept revolves around the idea of two homes for a single family, creating a harmonious balance that accommodates both private and communal living areas. Central to this vision is a courtyard that serves as the heart of the home and blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. This pivotal space welcomes residents and visitors alike, fostering a seamless flow and interaction with nature.
A key highlight of Cases 1922 is its innovative use of industrialized construction systems, which reinterprets traditional typological solutions. Prefabricated panels play a crucial role in this, offering numerous advantages such as efficient assembly, water conservation, and minimized construction errors. Moreover, these panels ensure the necessary airtightness to meet Passive House standards, promoting energy efficiency and sustainability.
Natural materials take center stage in this project, reinforcing its integration with the surrounding environment. The use of compacted earth, adobe, wood, and lime not only creates a visually coherent exterior but also fosters a healthy and toxin-free indoor atmosphere. These materials contribute to the building’s hygroscopic properties, enhancing the comfort and well-being of its occupants.
Completed in 2023, Cases 1922 spans 530 square meters and exemplifies a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary architectural practices. Nordest Arquitectura has successfully crafted a space that is not only environmentally responsible but also aesthetically pleasing and functional.
