Adobe

Adobe is one of the oldest and most enduring building materials in architecture, made from a mixture of earth, water, and organic fibers such as straw, then sun-dried into bricks. Widely associated with the vernacular traditions of the American Southwest, North Africa, and the Middle East, adobe construction offers excellent thermal mass, natural insulation, and a deep connection to the landscape. Its use continues to inspire contemporary architects working within sustainable architecture and organic architecture principles.
