Richard Rogers (1933-2021) was a renowned British-Italian architect known for his modernist and functionalist designs. Co-founder of Team 4 and RSHP, he gained prominence for his works, such as the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, which he designed with Renzo Piano and the Lloyd’s building in London. Rogers was notable for his high-tech architectural style that often exposed structural elements and utilities, emphasizing functionality alongside aesthetic value. He received the Pritzker Prize in 2007 for his significant contributions to architecture, and he has held a life peerage as Lord Rogers of Riverside since 1996.
