As one of the representatives of the ‘new tea brands,’ AURORA DESIGN chooses the ’emotional design’ as the main approach to depict the space by projecting different types of ’emotions’ in a tangible way. Embracing Serenity and Tradition: The Ye Xiao Xiao Tea Space
The inspiration for the Ye Xiao Xiao Tea Space is deeply rooted in the ancient tea culture of Yunnan Province, the cradle of tea civilization. It is here that the Baipu, an ancient people, first cultivated the art of tea drinking and commerce, weaving a rich tapestry of tradition that spans thousands of years. Aurora Design harnesses this heritage, channeling the spirit of the Tea Horse Road and the stories of the Jian Shui into a contemporary narrative that celebrates the timeless allure of tea.
Embracing Emotional Design
Aurora Design’s approach utilizes “emotional design” as the core principle to sculpt the space. This methodology seeks to encapsulate various emotions and manifest them into a tangible experience, allowing every sip of tea to become an immersive journey into fragrant realms. The design captures the serenity of South Yunnan’s tea culture, inviting patrons to traverse through time within the confines of a harmoniously designed environment.
The architectural layout of the Ye Xiao Xiao Tea Space is fluid. Circular divisions craft a path that weaves through the area, guiding visitors through a spectrum of emotional experiences. The choice of materials, such as the earth tones of the entrance bar counter, deepens the connection to the primitive essence of the Tea Horse Road, evoking a textured sensation of nature and serenity.
The Harmony of Materials
In this space, every element plays a pivotal role in the orchestration of emotion. The juxtaposition of soft curtains and hardwood alcoves, the whisper of fallen leaves, and the rustle of fabric all contribute to a symphony of sensory experiences. These elements, coupled with strategically placed indoor plants and decorative elements, craft a narrative that transcends the mere physical to touch the soul.
Central to the design is a raised platform encircled by curved walls and cascading fabric curtains, creating a sanctuary of peace. Here, the interplay of light and shadow, the blend of colors, and the infusion of tea scents invite a deep introspection, allowing visitors to embark on a reflective journey that marries life with emotions.
Color as the Conductor of Emotions
The palette of the Ye Xiao Xiao Tea Space plays a critical narrative role, guiding visitors from tranquility to contemplation. The deliberate use of colors such as pure white, beige, and dark brown facilitates a journey through emotions, with each hue resonating with a specific feeling. This meticulous attention to color underscores Aurora Design’s ambition to create a space where emotions are not only felt but deeply understood.
