X Shape

In architecture, an X shape refers to a structural or spatial configuration where the layout, form, or structural elements create an “X” pattern. This shape is often used to enhance stability, distribute loads efficiently, or create dynamic spatial compositions. Common applications include cross-braced structures for seismic resistance, diagonal beam arrangements in bridges and skyscrapers, and X-shaped floor plans that optimize natural light and ventilation. The X form is also used symbolically to convey intersection, movement, or tension within a design.
