Rogelio Salmona

Rogelio Salmona (1927–2007) was a Colombian architect who trained under Le Corbusier in Paris before returning to Bogotá, where he developed a distinctive regionalist modernism rooted in the use of brick, water, and urban space as poetic architectural materials. His Torres del Parque residential complex and Virgilio Barco Library are celebrated masterworks of Latin American architecture that elegantly synthesize Corbusian rigour with Colombian cultural identity.
