Puerto Escondido

Puerto Escondido’s Architecture closely relates to the natural environment, incorporating elements such as open-air layouts, tropical landscaping, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions. Sustainability is also a growing focus in many newer buildings, with features such as rainwater collection systems and solar power becoming more common. The area has some colonial influences due to Mexico’s history, although these are less prominent in Puerto Escondido than other parts of the country. As a beach town, many structures you’ll find here are residential or hospitality-based, including hotels, vacation homes, and beachside restaurants.
