Postmodernism

Postmodernism is an artistic and cultural movement that developed in the mid-to late-20th century as a response to and rejection of the tenets of modernism. It is characterized by skepticism towards grand narratives and ideologies, as well as opposition to epistemic certainty and stability of meaning. In architecture, postmodernism is marked by a playful use of historical references, the incorporation of elements from popular and mass culture, and a tendency towards eclecticism.
