Hølmebakk Øymo

Hølmebakk Øymo is the Oslo-based studio founded in 1990 by Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk and rebranded under its current name in 2024, after Elisabeth Øymo, partner since 2017, took over as managing director. The practice is known for a rigorous, site-specific approach that ranges from small chapels and summer houses to viewpoints along Norway’s National Tourist Routes, marrying tectonic precision with a deep sensitivity to landscape; qualities that have earned its drawings a place in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Norway and the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) in Frankfurt.
