CLT

CLT, or Cross-Laminated Timber, is an engineered wood product composed of layers of solid lumber boards stacked crosswise and bonded with structural adhesives. Developed in Austria and Germany during the 1990s, it has become a cornerstone of contemporary mass timber construction, valued for its dimensional stability, prefabrication potential, and significant carbon sequestration benefits. Architects increasingly specify CLT for residential, educational, and mid-rise commercial projects, where its warm exposed surfaces, structural efficiency, and rapid on-site assembly offer a compelling sustainable alternative to concrete and steel.
