Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk

Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk is a Norwegian architect whose work threads buildings carefully into the landscape, from small chapels and viewpoints along Norway’s National Tourist Routes to civic and cultural buildings, through restrained, sculptural forms and an unusually attentive sense of material and detail. In 2024, his Oslo-based practice was rebranded as Hølmebakk Øymo, reflecting Elisabeth Øymo’s role as co-principal alongside him.
