Villa VPRO Headquarters / MVRDV

Completed in 1997, Villa VPRO was the first realized project by MVRDV architecture firm. The proposal departs from traditional cellular office environments by inviting occupants to transition seamlessly from one floor to the next through an undulating and stepped concrete landscape. MVRDV’s revolutionary approach was informed by an ambitious brief and employees’ desire for the perfect work environment.

Paimio Sanatorium / Alvar Aalto

Completed in 1933, the Paimio Sanatorium is a former tuberculosis sanatorium designed by architect Alvar Aalto. The project has been canonized as an internationally recognized masterpiece of modern architecture, and it is often considered to be the breakthrough of Alvar Aalto. In 1960,  the building was converted into a general hospital.

Temple Street Parking Garage / Paul Rudolph

In 1962 Paul Rudolph completed the six-story Temple Street parking garage in New Haven exemplifying the excitement of the automobile at the time. In two city blocks, the garage design was treated as a mega-structure the full 700-foot length. The architect used an organically shaped module fully built-in reinforced concrete to materialize the construction.
